- May 7, 2006 - Don’t miss the
eighth Annual UJF Yom Ha’Atzmaut Festival!
at the Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center located at 4126 Executive
Drive, La Jolla, CA 92037
This event brings thousands of people from the San Diego Jewish Community
together. It is a special time to commemorate Israel's independence while
enjoying fabulous music, delicious food, games for the children, spectacular
entertainment, including live music and Israeli dancing, an
Israeli/Judaic art marketplace and more. There will be booths set up by
various San Diego Jewish organizations, schools and synagogues. And we will
have one too, so be sure to stop by the House of Israel booth to say hello!

May 28 - we are participating in the
annual ethnic food festival in Balboa Park
The
Israel Day Lawn
Program
was a huge success!
Here are the results of the Matzoh
Challenge
Our not so scientific study
produced some interesting results. 110 people taste-tested the Matzoh,
although not all testers voted on all 5 flavors.
The table below shows the results. The higher the number, the better people
liked it. From most liked to least, here is the order:
 |
-
1.
Grape
2. Egg
3. Regular
4. Whole Wheat
5. Shmura

Overall we conclude that most
people like matzoh and are open to experiment with new flavors. It is important
to note that due to technical issues, (i.e. melting
) there was no chocolate matzoh in
the challenge. We suspect, if we'd been able to test chocolate matzoh, it would
have wound up on top.
Thank you to all who
participated.
A happy Passover celebration to all.
